Girls just want to have fun

A very warm welcome to all ladies who will be visiting Belmont for the Championships!

The ladies from NSW are organising some activities for all the non-sailors (see below). In past events, we have always joined together to make our holiday a lot of fun, and these coming championships will be no exception. No hanging around boat parks for us while the guys are sailing! Here is a further update.

" Wednesday 8th February (during the Nationals) -
A visit to Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery where a collection of Australian "Beach Culture" photos, paintings, etc. will be displayed, followed by lunch at the award-winning Awaba House Restaurant within the expansive leafy grounds. Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie overlooking Marmong Marina, it includes a sculpture garden and mosaic pathway.
Lunch cost: $15-$20 approx.

" Tuesday 14th February (during the Worlds) -
A 4-hour yacht cruise on Lake Macquarie with light lunch included. BYO wine. The yacht is a 47 ft. Beneteau named "Yesdear" and our skipper, Michael, will follow some of the racing. There is a minimum of 10 people required and a maximum of 20. Go to www.lakemacquarieyachtcharters.com for more details and a photo of the yacht.
Cost: $66.

" Thursday 16th February (during the Worlds) -
A full-day tour of the Lower Hunter Valley Vineyards, including morning tea and lunch. We will have our own air-conditioned bus and it will depart from Belmont 16th Sailing Club. Cost approx: $60.

You will need to book and pay for these 3 outings on registration day so we can finalise numbers.

There are plenty of other places to visit on alternate days. We will arrange a contact point within the club to meet at approx. 10am daily for those who want to ask any questions or join with others to go on an excursion for the day.

You'll be given your own information pack on registration day containing maps, tourist brochures, social calendar, and contact names and phone numbers of the girls on the social committee.

We look forward to meeting up with old friends and making new friends!

Cheers,
Robin Blunt and Jan Tyler.
